Fo Guang Shan

Welcome to Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Temple of NC

Introduction about Fo Guang Shan Temple at North Carolina

Embracing the vision and great vow of Venerable Master Hsing Yun to spread Buddhism all over the world for the benefit of humanity, the local Buddhists in North Carolina initiated the building of a branch temple of Fo Guang Shan (Mount Buddha Radiance). It is expected to provide a multi-functional Buddhist cultural and learning center for the devotees as well as the general public. The planned 15,000 square feet facilities include a Buddha and meditation hall, a tea room/book store, a dining hall, classrooms, meeting room, library, and parking lots. The major goal of our temple is to promote Humanistic Buddhism. We will strive to serve our congregation and our community by providing educational opportunities, sponsoring cultural events, engaging in charity work, and conducting Dharma functions. In addition to offering devotional services and Buddhist lectures, together with the Buddha¡¦s Light International Association in North Carolina, the temple will sponsor family visits, the Fo guang Choir, social caring programs, art classes, study programs, chanting services, emergency salvation, and assistances in wedding and memorial services, etc.

Up to the present, the expense for constructing the temple has been supported by local Buddhists. According to the sutras, the merits and virtuesfor constructing the Buddhist temples or towers lead to dignified appearance, affluence, fortune, and wisdom.

Here we wish all the devotees and friends will continue to generously support this great initiative and achieve boundless beneficence.
